As we get older the white part of our eyes (the sclera) slowly yellow due to UV light but it doesn\u2019t have to be that way.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">We all slap on the sunscreen to protect our skin but it is just as important to protect the health of our eyes. UV light damage is cumulative and dangerous.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">These harmful rays cause sun spots to form on the skin around our eyes as well as little yellow\/white bumps on our sclera\u2019s called pinguecula\u2019s. Not to forget cataracts and macular degeneration.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">UV light is not good, so protect your eyes and your children\u2019s eyes. Wear a hat and sunglasses. If you are a contact lens wearer you\u2019ll be happy to know that some contact lenses have 100% UV protection. If you are an eyeglass wearer Essilor\u2019s Crizal UV coatings offer 100% UV protection from light being transmitted through the lens as well as an EyeSPF factor of 25 for light bouncing off the back of the lens into the eye.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">There are so many ways to prevent UV damage!
